Apparently in NASCAR, your mouth can't move as fast as the car you drive. As the Nextel Cup gets closer to the end, only five races left, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. will make sure to watch what he says. Earnhardt, currently 24 points behind leader Kurt Busch, was docked 25 points for swearing during a post-race interview. Behind him, Jeff Gordon sits 74 points behind, Elliott Sadler and Viagra's own Mark Martin rounding out the Top 5; last year's champ Matt Kenseth sits at seventh. Even Jimmie Johnson, who is in eighth place, could make a move. With five wins, he is tied with Gordon and Earnhardt for the most checkered flags this season.

For the remaining races, Jeff Gordon likes his chances. The veteran has won 15 times on these five tracks and looks to add a few more to his total to help win this inaugural year of the Nextel Cup. Ahead of him, though, is some tough, young competition. Two of the rising stars in NASCAR hope to show some of the older racers that the kids can play just as well as the adults. With these two being closely followed by Gordon, this is going to be a race that will go all the way to the last lap.

Those lucky enough to see last week's game at the Kansas Speedway found out why Kurt Busch deserves to be atop the leader board, surviving a crash and spinout to finish fourth for the day. He'll need to continue that kind of luck and perseverance to keep Dale Jr. nipping at his heels. Barring any more obscenities, Budweiser's No. 8 car will be right there in every finish, determined to win despite the docking.

As any NASCAR fan will tell, these races must be seen to be believed. While it's easy to sit down and watch it on TV with convenient camera angles, it's nothing compared to the atmosphere of an actual racetrack. The sound of the engines whirring past, the roar of the crowd, and of course, being there first-hand for any of the spectacular crashes is worth its price of a ticket and more. With races still to take place in warm venues like Atlanta, Phoenix and Miami, weekend races are the perfect way to beat the winter chills and get the blood pumping at the red lines.
